Planting pupils?!

Hey viewers!
So a couple of weeks ago I found out that, I was a co-head of the YMS student council. I was super excited, and couldn't wait till our first meeting, you see this was my second year on student council. I had so much fun last year. Planning, Traveling, Meeting new students from the different school. and I can't wait to do it all over again.

Our first meeting:

We had to been given the task of creating a piece of art, that represents our school. Julia and I did a rough sketch of how we wanted it to look like, then we gave Mika and Mia the job of bringing it to life, (Because we both know that they are totally the class art queens). So this is how it turned out...

I love it so much like I actually couldn't believe they had made this in less than an hour. It was beautiful, what do you guy's think about it? Leave a comment down below, if you have any questions. Or ideas of your own, on how to represent your school.

  1. Hi Jedi,
What a great blog post. It was so nice to read about how excited you were to be in the School Council again, and to be made co-head. I like that you are excited about the future and what you will do and achieve.

I love your piece of art. Sure, it is simple but it is powerful. What did you draw from to create the sketch?

    Thanks for sharing Jedi,
    Mrs S

    1. Hi Mrs Spragg,

Thanks so much for commenting. Now I would love to answer your question, although I don't totally get it.
Do you think you could explain it a bit for me?

      Thanks
      Jedi

    2. Hi Jedi,
Thanks for the reply. My question was what did you and the school council use to inspire/create your sketch? i.e. why did you use the things that are in the painting when you could have done anything?

      Does that help?
      :) Sharon

    3. Kia ora Mrs Spragg,

thanks so much for answering my question. Well first we were going to do the roots of a tree, or a flower. But we couldn't decided which one, so we ditched both ideas and tried to come up with a new one. We ended up looking for different slogans we as a school use to represent us. Julia and I then came up with the idea of using a baby plant, to show that we ( the school) are growing heros (The slogan the school uses a lot).We sketched the design onto a piece of A3 paper. Then showed the sketch to the rest of the student council. We then chose the most artistic kids in the group (Mia and MIka) to bring our idea to life.

      Does that answer your question?

      Thanks
      Jedi

  2. Hi Jedi,

Congratulations on becoming the co-head of the student council! What will you have to do as part of this role? We think your art is really pretty and we like the message.
