Marvelous mufti day!

Last thursday here at Y.M.S we hada super mufti day, to raise funds for our senior Wellington camp.  It was awesome to see the different colours and styles of clothes students wore.

That thursday we raised over $300 and that was alot!

and welcome back to my blog :D. A few members of the Yaldhurst Model School Student Council ( My friends Julia, Chloe and I) visited Wharenui School this morning. Now you might be wondering why, well: It was because it was because we were presenting our work on emotional intelligence. Now at first we were pretty nervous, but as soon as we got into presenting it became pretty easy. Even though we only spent less an hour there, I really enjoyed it because we got to meet new people, learnt a little more sign language and got to present our awesome work on emotional intelligence (We also got a delicious hot chocolate at the end because Mr Robertson is very kind.).

What a splash!

Guess what!

Last Friday was the annual YMS swimming sport's competition. It was such a blast, and I totally loved it. Now I'm sure that your school has had your swimming sport's, or it is coming up. Now Friday was a full on day for us YMS student's. And it was amazing to see that the juniors were really enthusiastic, and entered Gazillions of races. I was most impressed of two students in TM, Alice and Nishka, who just went for the gold. It was amazing they were up at every race! But I think that should be enough talking for now...

I'll be able to tell you much more about the results tomorrow, when they announce the winners of the 2019 Swimming sports.

Oh an just one more thing...

Does your shool have any special games or challenges during swimming sports. Well mine does. We have the most intense house swim relays. It's such a blast! Where houses go head to head in a swimming race. And it's all happening tomorrow!

(I totally know Hillary will win, because we have the 3 fastest swimmers in the whole school on our team!).

Rock & be a role model!

In rimu the Year seven and eight students have been, discussing what being a role model is.  Seeing that We have all just signed up for our leadership roles (Tell you more about that in another post).

Our plastic oceans

Currently in rimu we are researching on our plastic oceans for  inquiry.  Our main topic name is "Waste not, want not".  Below is a poster my bff (Please check out her blog here) and I have made, I personally think it is amazing. And was the best part of our presentation. 

Our next step is to do our action learning.  I shall explain more in that post to come.

Athletics

Hero Reward time

Our school is divided into four groups, called houses. Hillary, Edger, Rutherford, and Ormsby. Each house has to reach a certain amount of points and we are rewarded. In each house, we vote, for our reward. And then come's Hero Reward time! I am in Hillary house, and we chose Freetime and Cookie Decorating. Do you have a system like this in your school? and what would you want as your reward?

Elmsmere speech comp

                          

On Monday evening the 3rd or September. My friend Piper and I drove to Lincoln primary school. Because we got in for the Elmsmere speech comp, and we were representing our school. It was totally amazing! And this is a slide all about it. Hope you enjoy =)
