  1. Kia Ora Jedi,

    My name is Hazel, and I'm going to be reading your blog posts this summer; you might remember me from when I came to speak to your class a few weeks ago.

    I like that you've started your post with a link to the Summer Learning Journey. What a clever idea for people who don't know about our programme!

    Isn't it such a fascinating story about Maui and his brothers? Have you heard any other stories about Maui? I like the story about how he slowed the sun to make the days longer.

    I am very excited to read your posts this summer.

    Hazel :)

    1. Bonjour Hazel,

      And yes I have heard more stories about Maui and his brothers. My favorite would be the story of when he killed an eel and burried its guts, and then it sprouted a coconut tree.

      Thanks for commenting!
      Jedi =)

  2. Hey Jedi,

    This is Jade C from the Summer Learning Journey 2018. I will also be reading your posts along with Hazel and many other bloggers. I look forward to reading more of your blog posts over this summer!

    This is a great start to the programme, I really like how you numbered the facts in order and got your facts from the story!

    Have you watched Moana the movie? Many other bloggers from other schools have written about the story about Moana and Maui. I really enjoyed the movie, I hope you will get a chance to watch it if you already haven't because it's amazing!

    Remember you still have few weeks to complete your activities, so it's never late! Come and have a look at the activities and join us this summer! :) https://sites.google.com/site/summerlearningjourney/weekly-activities

    I look forward to reading more of your blog posts!

    Great choice of facts you used about MAui. Do you know any other Maui stories from books or online.
    There are so many online you can read now and the picture books are so good. My favourite is Maui and the Sun.
