Guy's I FLEW!

MEGA AIR!!

Hey there!
Welcome back to my amazing blog, last week thursday was Yaldhurst Model school final assembly. It was filled with tears, joy and a bit of confusion when some tech decided to be annoying. Anyways as you can see it was pretty sad, but something changed all that... Rimu went to Mega Air!
It was a blast! But why did we go you ask well, Rimu went to Mega air for the end of year farewell trip.

We bounced around, I flew, the teachers fell into bags of darkness, balls flew at their heads (and yet they still gave us pizza).  It was super, so super that I even made a Visme about our trip.

Hope you like it!

Chocolate!!πŸ«πŸ†πŸ«

Hey there!
Welcome back to my blog, do you know what the Spring learning journey is? Well you must do, because I have been posting about this journey a lot. But for those of you who don't know what the spring learning journey is, the spring learning journey or Sp.L.J  is a blog competition. Where you basically  have a set of blog posts to complete over the school holidays. There is also a winter learning journey. And a summer one which is coming up.

Anyways on tuesday participants from rimu class had been given prizes. Those prizes were Chocolate! I love chocolate, don't you? The top three also received gift cards to various stores.

Did you participate in the Spring learning journey? Well weather you have or have not, you could try out in the Summer Learning journey. Here is a link to the site where you can sign up, we begin on the 16 of december. I can't wait to compete against you, but for now here a few photos of the prize giving.

( If you want to look at my post's from this, then just scroll down and on the left should be a link (under labels) to my work)

πŸ˜ƒMaf...Maht...Math!

Hey there!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog again. Today in rimu we all had to create DLO's for math, I decided to make a screencastify explaining how to find the lowest common multiple of three different numbers, and how to convert a percentage into a fraction. It took me a pretty long time to learn how to do this, but with help from some friends I got it.
Now it might all sound pretty hard, but if you watch this video you will see how simple it really is.

I hope you find this video useful, if you have any questions or feedback, leave a comment down below.

I hope you enjoy❤πŸ˜‰

♫♫ A great Synphony♪♪

Kia ora,
and welcome to my blog. Today was super exciting. The whole of Yaldhurst school went a a trip, to the town hall. It was super, why did we go you might ask? Well there was a symphony orchestra playing there today, and  we. Although with a few other schools went to watch. It was breathtaking, but something else that really took my breath away was when we went to Margaret Mahy playground. I was super tired after a big game of tag around the playground.

Here a few shots of us enjoying it!

⚡Speedy little thing⚡

Hey there!

thanks for visiting my blog again, today for my homework post I have decided to complete this activity:
So I chose to write an acrostic poem about an animal, my favourite animal. Which is a big cat, a Cheetah. Cheetah's are my favourite animal because  they are fast, playful and at all scary like other big cats. Plus a cool cat power they have is natural sunglasses, which are the black tear lines around their eye's trailing down their cheeks. It helps enhance their vision  in the sunny african planes.
What's your favourite animal?
Hope you enjoy my poem!

Cheeky little thing😝

Kia ora,
and welcome back to my blog. In my maths group this week, we have been learning about Factors and multiples. Now all of it was pretty easy, except for one cheeky( 😝) slide.

Anyway's, today for my blog post I have decided to create a DLO on what I have learnt. I hope you have something to take away from this video, you might even be able to solve that cheeky question.
If you do solve it then one, I'll be beaten and you can share how you got your answer down in the comments below.
Good luck! (you'll need it)

Not so easy...😣

Hey there,

and welcome back to my blog. So far this term my group has been working on converting and ordering fractions and decimals. Today was our last sesion, and my group really had to push because we had a lot to do. But we made it and I actually learned a lot, I have gained enough knowledge to work around questions I used to struggle with.

Is there something that you are yet to conquer in math?

Is it converting fractions into percentages? Well your in luck, because I have just the DLO for you.

Enjoy!♥πŸ˜ƒ♥

My other (not so) secret identity..

Kia ora,

and welcome back to my blog. As you all know, last term here in Rimu we were working on inventions. But this term we have been working on street art, it's so much fun. Lately we have been focussing on some pieces here in New Zealand, and personally my favourite street art group is the Gap Filler group. Have you seen any of their pieces around town? Well if you haven't, you should go on a street art search.

But for now you can search through my work, and see if there is anything you like.

Now you see me... Now you don't

I spyπŸ‘€

Kia ora,

and welcome back to my blog. Do you know who Jon M. Chu is? Well, he is the director of my favourite movie. Now you see me- 2!

For my homework blog post this week I had to create a biteable on my favourite movie or Tv show. I chose movie. And as you already know, my favourite movie is now you say me-2. Have you seen it?
My favourite part is near the end when the main characters have a huge show. And trick the... well bad guys. It's super amazing, you should totally watch it.
Although if you are under 13, you should watch this movie with an adult.

But here is a small clip, btw they are trying to steal a microchip from a big company - all good reasons.

Now here is my biteable...

Math Master

Hey there!

And welcome back to my blog. Today for my first homework blogspot this term I have decided to, create a number word search. Now there was not much explanation of how the layout should look, so I designed it myself.  It's a colour to reveal, so if you want to have a go at it then just click this link! Now just so you know there are only 5 copies of this word search.

So if you manage to grab one, then I hope you enjoy completing it!

No Smiling!

NO SMILING! Only similes πŸ˜„

Just kidding, you can smile.

Kia ora and welcome back to my blog. Today for my first post this term, I have decided to take about some work we have done in writing. We are currently learning about Similes, Metaphors and Personification. After we all master that, we will be writing about a moment in time. Which basically means we will be writing pieces in present tense.

But today we had to create a poster about Similes, Metaphors and personification with our editing buddy. I created this poster with Amelia.

Do you like it?

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Star Cafe

Hey there,

thanks so much for visiting my blog again. Today for my 14th post I have decided to complete task 19, I had to design a restaurant or Cafe, make a menu for it then post info and photo's of it on my blog. I am super proud of it, even though it did take me a week to make using a site called: Planner 5D. If you had this job, what would you have used to design your Diner?

Here are a few photos of my Cafe...

Musical Masterpiece

S.L.J ~ Activity 8, task 13

# SOOOOGOOOOD

Hey there!

Welcome back to my blog, for my 13th post these school holidays. I have decided to complete task 8, I had to create a piece on Song Maker. Which is a super fun site where you can create pieces of music, I absolutely loved it. And I know you will too!
But something else I know you'll love is listening to my music. If you enjoyed it then tell me down in the comments below, hope you enjoy!πŸ˜ƒ

Because I loved this site soooo much, I created an extra piece. Which I am super proud of, which do you like best. The first or second one? Tell me down in the comments below, don't forget to scroll down to the bottom of this page and smash that follow button. That way you will be one of the first to hear about all the updates on my blog.

Xigua- What's that?!

S.L.J ~ Activity 9, Task 12

Fascinating food...

Hello,

thanks so much for visiting my blog again. Today I have completed my 12th post for the Spring Learning journey. I had to try to create a list of foods, that went from A-Z. I am super proud of my work because I think that I have come up with a lot of foods. Do you think that you have tried any of the foods on my list? (You probably have).

I really enjoyed creating this list, but it was a bit hard to think of foods for the letter X. So I had to ask Google and Siri for that one, they came up with Xigua. Do you know what that is?
Well I know you do, it's another name for a well-known fruit>>

_ a t _ r m _ l _ n
Can you figure it out? If you know then tell me your answer down in the comments below.
If you want to know then just check slide number 13,
I hope you enjoy reading my slide.

"yay" πŸ€¨πŸ™„πŸ˜ Chores

S.L.J ~ Activity 16, Task 11

Would you call that being sly?

Kia ora,

and welcome back to my blog. Guess what?

Okay so as you all know I have decided to participate in the Spring learning journey, and the 11th activity is to Set the table and wash the dishes for my family. Now I don't mind doing (most) chores, but washing dishes is my least favourite chore. I honestly don't know why I dislike it, I just do. Are there any chores or jobs you hate doing? Do you have any pets you have to clean up after? If you do, I know how you feel. I have to clean up after my siblings all the time πŸ˜‰.

Anyways, to prove that I have done these tasks, I had to take pictures of them.
Here they are...
Do you believe I did them? (I did) Would you have done these activities?

Luckily there are no Leeches
πŸ§‘πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ§‘
Kia ora,

and welcome back to my blog. Do you know what a Lychee is? well it is not a leech for sure, I would not love to do a post about a leech. Anyways, for those of you who don't know a Lychee is a type of fruit. They can be found in China, do you think you have tried a Lychee. If you have then why don't you tell me how you felt about it, down in the comments below? But for now, why don't you check out this google drawing I have created for the Spring Learning Journey? I have decided to complete activity 6, I had to create a google drawing about the food I haven't tried before. But would like to try, I also had to say why I wanted to try this food.
Are there any new foods that you would like to try?
If so then you can tell me about them down in the comments below. But for now, I hope you enjoy reading my google drawing!
Make sure to like and comment on this post.πŸ€©πŸ€—

My family's favourite food

Hello,

today for my 9th post I have decided to complete activity 5. I had to interview everyone in my household and ask them what their favourite food is. I decided to present my findings in a video, and funnily enough, I created this video using a site called Biteable. If you have not heard of this site before you should totally check it out, it's free and fun. Do you like any of the foods in this clip? If not what's your favourite food, tell me down in the comments below. But for now...
I hope you enjoy watching my video, make sure to likeπŸ˜ƒ!

😨😨TOO..😨😨STRESSED😨😨about this!

S.L.J ~ Activity 8, Task 13

I think this is one of the hardest decisions  I have ever made

Kia ora,

and welcome back to my blog. Today I have just made a super hard decision, *gulp*. As part of the Spring learning journey, I had to write whether I would rather not eat cake or ice cream. I know right?! It's a super hard decision, but I have finally come up with a decision. And this slide contains my answer. What would you have answered?
You can tell me down in the comments below right after reading and liking this post.
Thanks😁

Nummy

Hi there,

and welcome back to my blog. Today I will be acting as Tiffany Derry; a famous American chef from Dallas Texas. This is because it is a part of the Spring learning journey. I had to pick a famous chef to be for the day, then video myself showing you guys how to do something simple. Like boil an egg, so I have chosen to show you how to make Waldorf salad. A super simple recipe that is sort of like coleslaw (but better, because
 I made it πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚).
I hope you enjoy watching it!

It could be YOU...

S.L.J ~ Activity 5, Task 14

Are you one of these 3?

Kia ora,

and welcome back to my blog. Do you think you are one of these people? Are you Renae, Prwin or Hana. Well if you are then you are the lucky three (sorry this is not a Lotto draw), then you have received a comment from me. As part of the Spring learning journey, I had to comment on three peoples blogs. Now I planned to comment on blogs from other schools, but I could not find any. So I commented on students blogs from my class. I chose to comment on Parwin, Hana and Renae's blogs.
here are the comments
⬇⬇⬇⬇⬇

Parwin

Hana

Renae

If you want you could leave a comment on this post, or on any of the other blogs. If you want to visit any of these three blogs just click on the comment and through cyberspace. Youll get there!πŸ’›πŸ˜‹πŸ˜

A Great Mallow Match for you

Hey there,

and welcome back to my blog. Have you heard of Matcha mallow? Well, no you haven't (okay so you have,-now) because I made it up. Below is an advertisement for Matcha Mallow, which I have created on google drawings. As you know, I have created this as a part of the spring learning journey. My task was to invent a new food, then create an advertisement for it. I think that the flavours for this snack really go well together, I know you will too.
Here it is, I hope you like it!πŸ˜€

Remember this is only a made-up product and is not actually for sale.

*WOAH*

S.L.J ~ Activity 4, task 1

They just look super interesting, (and delicious)

Hi there!

Do you know what a Soursop is? Have you ever tried one? Well, I haven't but I do know that my uncle has a huge Soursop tree in his yard. My brother and climbed it all the time when we were smaller. But I never wanted to try the fruit because of the way it looked, that's why Soursop has made its way onto my list. As you have seen, for my fourth post I have decided to complete task 1. I had to make a poster of 10 different healthy foods I have not tried before. It was super hard since I have tried a lot of different types of healthy foods. So I had to go digging through google to find the weirdest, most exotic fruits and veg. And I have found a few fruits I have and haven't heard. I also have not tried any of them. But someday I might.

Have you tried any of these fruits, if you have then which ones? You can tell me down in the comments below.

I have created this presentation on Visme, which is a super cool site you should check out.
I hope you find my work interesting!πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

😱I think I might be turning into a bunny!

S.L.J ~ Activity 3, task 11

Caution... Carrots!

Hello,

and welcome back to my blog. Now I was wondering, would I turn into a bunny if a ate too many carrots? Or is that a little (No it's totally) crazy?
Well, I haven't got big ears and buck teeth yet, but what I do have is this Spring learning journey post. Today as you might have seen I have decided to complete activity 11. It said for me to set a timer for one minute, then see how much of a carrot I could eat in that time. So down below in this google drawing I have created, are the before and after photos of my carrot.
Do you think you can beat me? Well, why don't you have a go? Just make sure you've swallowed the carrot in your mouth before the timer has run out. Otherwise, it wouldn't be called eating.

Good luck! Don't forget to tell me how you went down in the comments below.
Also another thing, my best friend Parwin did a post on this too. You can check it out by clicking this link.

Sayonara friends!😁

Sam just ate 5 burgers all at once!!!

S.L.J ~ Activity 2, task 12
That's crazy!

Okay maybe the real Sam didn't eat 5 burgers all at once ( I bet he would), but he did in one of these maths questions.

Kia ora,

and welcome back to my blog. As you know I have decided to participate in the Sping learning journey.
Today I have decided to complete task 12, I had to create four different maths questions involving food. If you're wondering why, while the topic this spring is food, like how the last school holidays were creatures. So far I am really enjoying it, and I think you will too. So just click this link if you want to join.
Anyways I created this post on piktochart, piktochart is an awesome site which anyone can use to make online presentations. Maybe you can try it out, right after checking out this post of course.

Hope you enjoy reading it!
Also if you have some fun foodie maths questions of your own, then leave a comment down below and tell me your maths question/s.

Delish! (If that's even a wordπŸ˜‰)

Well, that's how I like to describe it!

Hey there!

and welcome back to my blog, now as you might have guessed I have decided to participate in the spring learning journey, and there are quite a few activities but I think I might be able to get through them all. But to start I have decided to complete activity number 4, I had to create a slideshow about a family recipe. So I decided to do it about Kokoda, which might sound funny but this slide explains everything.

I hope you enjoy reading this and maybe even making and eating eat!

Never thought of that!

Hi there,

some of you might never have thought about whether Maths was an invention or discovery. I know it's pretty random, but today that's what my homework blog post is about.
For this post I had to write about whether I thought Maths was an invention or discovery, then I had to talk about it with friends and family. This post was super easy and fun because learnt some new which I thought was pretty cool. I learnt that beginning in the 6th century BC with the Pythagoreans, the Ancient Greeks began a systematic study of mathematics. Around 300 BC, Euclid introduced the axiomatic method still used in mathematics today, consisting of definition, axiom, theorem, and proof. I know, it's super interesting right?!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I chose to present my work on google drawings, everything on this drawing I have created. And I hope you enjoy reading my work!     ༼぀ ◕◕  ༽぀
Would you call me crazy for doing this?
Kia ora
and welcome back to my blog.
And yeah, you could probably call me crazy for doing this.🀩😎
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
I invited four famous people to dinner... Okay as you might have guessed this is not totally true.
Now as some of you might have figured this is actually my homework post. Today my task was to write three letters to three famous people, now I have written to four famous people, but you will soon find out why.
I have invited Bear Grylls - Jamie Oliver and Chip & Joanna Gaines.
Have you heard of any of these people? Or have you seen any of their shows?
I have decided to present my letters on this google slide⬇
And I hope you enjoy reading them!πŸ’›πŸ’›
Our hard work paid off
Hey there ,
 and welcome back to my blog.
Now as some of you might know some of my friends and I are part of this huge marathon run. The Rod Dixon's kids marathon run to be exact, which is 36.6 miles long.
We ran this 3 times a week for 14 weeks, at first it was pretty easy. But as it got colder runners became more tired, some even dropped out.
Although my friends Gracie, Julia and I  stayed strong. That's how we along with other hard workers receive our medals.
This slide is all about that.
What Monster?
Hey there,
and welcome back to my blog. Today for my homework blog post I have decided to write another book report, about a book I have just finished. The book is called 'WHAT Monster?' by Liz Pichon in the Tom Gates series. Do any of you enjoy reading Tom Gates books?
I came across this book while visiting the Halswll Library, as I passed a shelf I heard it screaming at me. So I decided to borrow it; since I hadn't yet read it.
So now that I have read it I have written this book report⬇️ which I hope you enjoy reading.
Giant snails?!
Last friday Karyn Wilson visited our classroom, Karyn is a New Zealand author. She has written two books so far one called Kereru's barbeque and her second one Peka and Koro. Have you read any of these books before?
She talked to us about the process of creating a book and answerd a few of our questions.
I personally enjoyed her visit although there were a few *photobombs (from my teacher).
During her visit I found out something pretty cool which was, when Karyn was younger she use to hate writing! I found that pretty funny.
Digging deeper in the decimals
Hey there!
Marvelous mufti day!
Last thursday here at Y.M.S we hada super mufti day, to raise funds for our senior Wellington camp.  It was awesome to see the different colours and styles of clothes students wore.
That thursday we raised over $300 and that was alot!
I love mufti days, do you?
They jumped out of the book! πŸ“—
These characters just leaped of the the book! So we interviewed them...
Okay so maybe they didn't jump out of the book, but we did interview them.
So as some of you might know I have been doing on novel study on a book written by Annabel Pitcher. The book is called My Sister Lives On The Mantelpiece, now this book isn't one I would normally read. But after getting into the first few pages I began to really enjoy it. Have you been like that with certain other books? Or have you ever read a book you thought you would enjoy, but didn't?
Well I have but enough about that.
This week one of the activities I completed was to create an interview. I did this with my BFF Parwin, and it went great. Together we interviewed a celebrity, some of the main character's class mates and Sunya.
So here they are...
Dancing with dem Decimals⭐
Bula  Vinaka!
and welcome back to my super blog. I hope you have had an awesome day, and I hope your day becomes even greater after reading my post. Well as most of you might know every week here in rimu we must complete a homework blog task. And the task I took up today was the ninth one. I had to teach an adult in my family (Most likely one or both of my parents) a method I have been learning in maths. So I decided to talk to my dad about decimals, which is maths work I have been working on today. So far it's pretty simple, although I am expecting to eventually become a teensy bit challenging.
Do you like challenging math? Well, I do (not really πŸ˜πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜).
Here is a slide I have created about decimals, I hope you enjoy...
I disliked maths once, but now I am wearing it!
Hey there!
And welcome back to my blog. Now as some of you might know, this week was maths week. And as some of you might also know, I was in a group with parwin and Chloe we decided to create a high low dress. We drew out our plan onto an A4 sheet of paper and it was awesome! Although our dress did not turn out to be like our plan, we were super proud of it. Down below is a video I have created on biteable about our finished product. Maybe you can tell me what you think about it? Do you like it? But just remember we aren't professionals, we hand sewed everything and have never ever done this before.
So are you ready to check it out?
Marvelous Maths Week!
Hello,
And welcome back to my blog. Now, guess what...
IT'S MATHS WEEK THIS WEEK! :D
Right now the whole of rimu class is super pumped about it, but it wasn't all cupcake's and rainbows at first. When this news was first announced to Rimu, everyone had groaned and moaned about how boring it was going to be. We only became slightly interested when the teacher's announced what we would be doing. Then once we got into it became super fun, although my group did come up to a few speed bumps.
Check out this slide to how my groups work is going so far...
What would you do if your sister lived on the mantelpiece?
Kia ora!
Today for my homework post I have decided to complete the first task. My job was to write a book report on a book I have just finished. Do any of you know the book: My sister lives on the mantlepiece? Well, I do, because that is the book I have just finished. Above this text is my book report, which I have created on Google drawings. I hope you enjoy reading! πŸ‘
Out of school ^.^
Kia ora,
and welcome back to my blog :D. A few members of the Yaldhurst Model School Student Council ( My friends Julia, Chloe and I) visited Wharenui School this morning. Now you might be wondering why, well: It was because it was because we were presenting our work on emotional intelligence. Now at first we were pretty nervous, but as soon as we got into presenting it became pretty easy. Even though we only spent less an hour there, I really enjoyed it because we got to meet new people, learnt a little more sign language and got to present our awesome work on emotional intelligence (We also got a delicious hot chocolate at the end because Mr Robertson is very kind.).
Here is a video I have made about the trip, and below that is what we presented🀩.
3 WishesπŸ”…
Bula Vinaka!
Thanks so much for checking out my blog today, today for my homework blog post I have chosen to complete task three. My job was to write about three wishes of mine. I have presented them all in this slide. Now I do have a few wishes, some to 1 - benefit me. And 2- for the world we live in. And I wasn't sure whether to do the 1st or second type of wishes. So I chose to do both.
And here they are in a Canva I have made Enjoy!
Weekend blog!!!πŸšπŸ¦€
Hello bloggers!
Welcome back to my blog, I hope you are having an awesome weekend so far.
Today as you might have figured I am doing a weekend post and starting today I will try to do one every weekend. Today my weekend post is about a trip my family and I took to the beach this morning. It was so much fun:
We dug holes, made sandcastles, played run away from the wave, collected seashells, drew pictures in the sand. And even found seven fat as Huhu grubs.
Chloe had a little lamb, little lambπŸ‘
Hey there,
Guess what! Today rimu class had a very special guest, he bounded into school with my best friend Chloe. Beans was his name ( not the food). Beans is my best friend Chloe's pet lamb, now some of you might be wondering why he was named Beans, well. He was actually named by Chloe's older sister, because she loved baked beans πŸ€¨πŸ€©.
I personally thought he was super cute!
Here are a few photo's of him...
Have you heard of my movie CHAOSπŸ’’πŸ’₯? (No)
Hey there!
My homework blog task this week was a really interesting one. I hadn't noticed it until the students in my class began to talk about it. So I had to check it out myself. The task was to, described if a movie was made about my life. Which actor's and actresses would I want to act out my family members.
Here is a movie poster I created about the movie.
I hope you enjoy reading it, while you do maybe you can think of which actor or actress would you want to act out you in a movie.
Kia ora!
And welcome back to my blog. Now I know why you're all here, it's because... You miss me!πŸ˜‹
Okay maybe not ( or maybe just a little bit ), but enough about that. Today for my first homework blog-post this term I have chosen to complete, activity 7 (the yellow box in the bottom left corner).
If the answer is eighty-one what is the question?
My task was to come up with a creative question, but the answer to that question had to be 81. And it didn't even have to involve maths!
This is a slide I have made to present my work.
I hope you enjoy reading through it (maybe you might even spot a few cheeky monkeys.
One word... Two meanings πŸ”
WLJ- Activity 3
Helllllooooo,
Today for my 6th WLJ post I have decided to complete activity 3. My task was to talk about Homonyms. A homonym is a word with two different meanings. Like: Bark- The sound a d🐢g makes, and the out layer of a tree. Can you think of any homonyms? If you can then why don't you tell me them down in the comments below?
But for now, here is a google slide I have made on Homonyms.
I hope you enjoyπŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ’›!
