School journal- workbook 2

Okay, so you might all be wondering why I am posting about my school journal work again. Well, we actually have started a new journal…

And I haven’t yet completed all of the activities but

Here is just one. Based on the story Hushed by Paul Mason…

The moon

If you had to go on a journey to the moon, which to story character's would you take with you? and why?

I would probably take Grandpa from the book "Grandpa's great escape" a book by David Walliams.

 Because he would be a lot of fun, and I think he would be a great company. Also, I feel that it would be a great experience on his behalf, being the age he is. 

I would also take Curious George.

 Because he is so adorable, and he seems like a lot of fun. Although, I would make sure to keep him strapped down to his seat at all times. I wouldn't want his itchy finger's wandering the spacecraft (knowing him [-_-] ).

What are the three most important things to me in life?

Great gumboot friday

Today all over Zealand people  have gone crazy for gumboots! 

Because it's... Gumboot Friday!

Nearly all of the students in my school (and many other schools) came wearing gumboots in different shapes and sizes. There were gumboots covered in glitter, gumboots decorated with superheros like: Batman and superman. Gumboots with cool patterns, and even some plain (but bright) gumboots. It was also super amazing to see how many kids, were so enthusiastic today. 

It was also great that as a school, we managed to raise $141.30  for  children (and some parents) with mental health issues. Did you or your school wear gumboots today?

Don't be a Julian!

Have you ever read the book Wonder? Or have you ever seen the movie? If you have do you remember that kid in the book, named Julian? Do you remember the awful way he used to treat August?
Well in rimu this term we have been reading (and doing work) the book wonder. It is a very interesting book, and it is a tiny bit different from the movie.
And today as a class we discussed why it is bad to "Be a Julian",  and what is something we could do instead of Ignoring or exclude others, giving them 'the look', being mean both physically and verbally hurting them. That's only to name a few, but can you think of anyways NOT to be a Julian?


While your thinking why don't you look at some of the ideas I have come up with? Maybe they might give you a little boost!
